Continue reading below to see the 2 different types of sewer repair.
Open Trench repair is the traditional sewer repair, and sometimes there is a situation that will only allow this type of repair, although it’s rare. This method is one of heavy construction where we bring in an excavator to dig out your entire sewer line. This process undoubtedly will disrupt your entire yard, driveway, and or house. This method should honestly only be considered if a situation warrants it with today’s technology.
A Trenchless sewer repair is the most minimally invasive repair. Make no mistake, heavy construction still takes place, but, instead of breaking ground throughout 50 to sometimes 200 feet, we can replace an entire sewer with only 1 to 4 holes in dedicated spots throughout the property. Most repairs can be done with only 2 holes!
Sewer bursting is the process of replacing an existing sewer line via splitting the old pipe using a specialized hydraulic tool, that pulls the new seamless pipe through the old line. The new pipe is fused together and is root proof. This process allows for a full sewer replacement without digging up your entire yard. This process does require digging, but at a much smaller and controllable scale.
Sewer lining can also be done in some situations, depending on pipe type and status. This is done by sending a “sock” soaked in resin down the existing line and can be done sometimes without even digging a single hole!
Pipe patching is the same process as a lining, however, on a much smaller scale and should only be considered as a semi-permanent fix. Depending on the pipe type and integrity, this could fix all issues in the sewer system.
With decades of experience, any sewer issue you stumble across, Gold Seal Plumbing will provide a solution for you.
